With a Grateful Heart!

Psalm 103:1
Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!

I thank God for seeing us through to the end of 2019. Yes, we might have had several ups and downs in 2019, but the Lord carried us on Eagle’s wings, and He brought us to the 31 December 2019. And I'm sure that we all aspired and expectations to achieve our goals for 2019, which we might have achieved. It is also possible that some of your goals for 2019 have not been realised and you might be feeling discouraged and let down. Maybe you're still taking stock, and you don't know where things are with you now. Today, I believe the Lord will have me encourage every one of you, even if you have realised all your goals for 2019. Joyful mothers, I want to encourage you that there is more for the future. There is room for improvement, such as in our relationship with God, family, friends, our prayer lives and so on.

Moreover, if you have not realised all your goals or any of your goals, I want you to know that God has your back. Maybe you were hoping that your breakthrough for the blessing of the womb would be in 2019, but now you feel let down by God because you are still waiting. Jeremiah 8:20 says, “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved!” Perhaps you were looking forward to a bountiful harvest in your business, expected that you would get that promotion this year, expected that health issue or financial issue or family issue would be resolved this year. And now, we have come to the end of 2019 and there is nothing to show for your expectations. The academic year has ended, the financial year has ended, the annual leave year has ended, yet most of your goals and aspirations are not yet realised. What happened to your promises, Lord? We trusted, we fasted, and we prayed.

You can choose to maximise the blessing of today and the fact that you have life, decide to praise God despite your circumstances. Bless the Lord for all He has done for you and your family.

The Bible says in Acts 16:25-26 that “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Paul and Silas chose to praise God in their midnight hour - the darkest hour of the night, when all is silent, nothing much is happening, people around you are there as if they are not, but you feel that you are alone. You can choose to use your midnight hour whichever way you want to. You can either choose to be scared and be afraid because of the darkness and the fact that you are alone. Your situation won’t always be like this. God will perfect all that concerns you. Sooner or later, God will turn it around for your good. Tell yourself in front of a mirror, ‘sooner or later it will turn in my favour, God will turn it around for me. I used to minister to myself in this way when I was waiting for the fruit of the womb. God will turn around the circumstances in your home, work, finances, relationships, health, for your good. Never judge your future with your present situation. You are just passing through this circumstance.

The ‘suddenly moment’ came upon Paul and Silas because they chose to praise and worship God despite their circumstances. You too can do the same. You can adore and worship Him in spite of your circumstances. The ‘suddenly moment’ shook the foundation of the prison. When your suddenly moment comes, you will not miss, and notably, the foundations of your circumstances will surely not miss it as they will be shaken to their roots.

Praise and thank God for all that He has done for you and your family. Thank Him for the lives of your children, husband, and for daily loading you with benefits. In your circumstances, always remember, He is the God of the midnight hour and He always makes a way where there seems to be no way.

Isiah 43:15-16
I am the LORD, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.” Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters,
Psalm 103:2-5

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
